S. J. Tucker came flying out of her home community in Memphis, Tennessee in 2004, guitar in hand, and her feet have hardly hit the ground since. Betsy Tinney is a beloved PNW performer, known for her immersive and magical work on the cello. Folk, Pagan, Blues, Rock, Celtic, Gospel, Geek, Jazz, Punk, Opera, Goth-industrial: all of these types of music share space in S. J.’s & Betsy’s combined work, and their varied elements are bound together by masterful lyrical storytelling! No two of their concerts are the same, but S. J. and Betsy’s skill, presence and desire for connection with their audience consistently shine from every stage they cross. It’s clear to each audience that these two vibrant women are the best of friends, and they are proud to contribute to the soundtrack of life in the most whimsical of ways. Leslie Hudson is a powerhouse performer and prolific songwriter bringing rock, jazz, metal, blues, folk, filk and funk to her body of her work, which illustrates the mosaic of the feminine spirit across culture, history and myth, digging into the dirt, traversing the shadows, and bringing the truth to light. Hudson’s influences, woven into her voice as well as her fingers on the keys, glide from Tori Amos to Loreena McKennitt, Metallica to Simon & Garfunkel. Armed with a synesthetic palette, she invites her listeners to see through the eyes of heroines, villains, lovers and liars alike, as she breathes new life into stories less often told.
