Into the Realm is a collection of Betsy’s songs, rich with variety and playfulness. The songs were inspired by weather, sunlit elephants, sangria, and much more.

The instrumentation includes not only plenty of cello, but also acoustic guitar, electric guitar, drums, marimba, latin percussion, and even more cello.

As with all Betsy's solo albums, Luminous is a rich and varied collection of instrumental songs. Betsy's cello weaves through all the pieces, sometimes lyric and graceful, sometimes bold and crunchy, and always evoking a particular mood or image. The songs were inspired by sneaky alligators, introverted trees, a helpful elephant, courting owls, and so much more! They can't wait to meet you! (Especially the alligators.)

Geli and I love to sit down together with our instruments and just improvise, letting the music lead us where it will. All the pieces on this album were completely improvised from start to finish: we had no written score, chords, or even a plan – we just started playing, then followed each other wherever the music wanted to go. And when a piece was complete, we stopped. (Improv is like that.)

Most of the pieces on this album were originally released to Betsy's Patreon subscribers (except for tracks 9, 10 and 11). All the Patreon pieces were remixed for this album.
